As Owner of Schu's Grill & Bar, I would like to personally invite you to participate in the Schu's Memorial Golf Classic 2009. I am excited to tell you that there's a whole lot of new for the Golf Classic 2009 - a new golf course - a new format - a new date - and a new charity.

The whole community is excited about the opening of the new Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course at Harbor Shores in Benton Harbor. Even thought all eighteen holes will not be ready in time for the "Classic" we have designed the Schu's Memorial Golf Classic 2009 to adapt to what's available. The tournament will be played as an eighteen hole tournament so you will have the excitement of a full eighteen holes.

Think about it - you will be one of the first to play this fabulous new Jack Nicklaus golf course - and you will be supporting two great causes - the Berrien Community Foundation/Molly Schuler Endowment Fund* and the American Cancer Society. You will also be served in the "Schuler Family" style of hospitality with on course beverages and snacks, a deluxe traveling lunch and a winners reception with heavy hors d'oeuvres, cocktails and awards all served at the course by Schu's Grill and Bar

The tournament will be played as a four person team schamble - it's similar to a scramble but with a twist. You will literally play your own game and record a score. In a schamble all players tee off on each hole. The players then retrieve their tee shot and move to the position of the best drive for the team. From the position of the best drive, all players then play their own ball until they hole out. A gross score will be recorded for each player. The team score will be the total of two net best balls.

The event will be divided into competition for men, women and coed teams. Prizes will be awarded to the top teams plus you will have a chance to win $25,000.00 for a Hole-in-One. There will also be plenty of opportunities for both men and women to win great prizes in special events such as closest to the pin, long drive contests, long putt contest plus many other fun activities.
